✔️ Step-by-Step Guide for Using Blood Glucose Test Strips
- Begin by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Pat dry them with a towel. Alternatively, you can use an alcohol swab to clean your finger, ensuring the fingertip is completely dry before testing.
- Remove a test strip from the box and insert it into the glucometer’s slot just before pricking your finger.
- Use a clean lancet device or insert a new needle into the lancet device.
- Prick the side of your fingertip using the lancet. Wait until a drop of blood appears. Wipe off the first drop gently and then place a drop or two of blood onto the designated area on the test strip attached to the glucometer.
- Hold a clean cotton pad or gauze on the prick site to stop the blood flow. Apply pressure until the bleeding stops.
